Wiener Eistraum – ice skating close to the central apartment hotels in Vienna

Ice Skating in Vienna Apartment Hotels

From January 23rd 2015 to March 8th 2015 the square next to the Viennese townhall is converted into an amazing ice rink. Residents of Vienna bring their ice skates, while those who do not posses ice skates can lend skates right at the ice rink. Thus, guests in our central apartment hotels in Vienna can easily lend ice skates. Next to the ice skating rink, lots of stands offer regional and international food and souvenirs.

An ice skating rink in Vienna’s city center

The “Wiener Eistraum” (engl. Viennese Ice Dream) is one of the most spectacular ice skating rinks in Europe. The ice skating rink extends from the townhall to the famous Burgtheater and is thus located in close vicinity to our central apartment hotels in Vienna. Separate, romantic lanes inside the adjacent park are built. The ice skating rink is located directly on the ring, a street which surrounds the first district, i.e. the center of Vienna. Therefore, the ice skating rink is easily accessible with public transport. Just take the metro “U2” (purple line) and get out at the station “Rathaus” or step on one of the multiple trams, which stop at the Burgtheater or the parliament (lines D, 1, 2, 71).

Fun during your family holiday in the central apartment hotels in Vienna

Admission is only 6,50 € per person and grants access to the ice skating rink from 9 am to 10 pm. Children and Seniors only pay 5 € entrance. Families (2 adults + 1 child) can get tickets for 15,50 €. Skate rental is 6,50€ for adults and 4€ for children. In order to prevent injuries, children receive helmets for free. If you feel like sharpening your skates, you can have that done directly on the ice skating rink for a price of 6 €. For a more detailed price list we refer to the official homepage of the Wiener Eistraum.

Curling lanes for non-skaters

Visitors in our central apartment hotels in Vienna who do not feel like skating, can rent one of the multiple curling lanes. Lanes can be booked in blocks of 30 minutes from 5pm onwards and cost 45 € per blocks. For further information on booking the curling lane, please refer to the official homepage of the Wiener Eistraum again.

Food and drinks on the stands

After ice skating or curling, we recommend the guests of our central apartment hotels in Vienna to check out the stands for regional food and drinks. Traditional Austrian snacks are served next to punch and hot wine punch to our guests in the central apartment hotels in Vienna.
